Genji Emaki Exhibition, 2004

January 24 to February 11, 2004

Chinese Ceramic Antiques Exhibition at SHIN GALLERY (Tokyo, Japan)

Ceramic works created between 400 BC and 1911 AD, mainly works from Neolithic Era, Han Dynasty (202 B.C.-220 A.D.), Tang Dynasty (618 AD - 907 AD), Song Dynasty (960 AD - 1279 AD), Yuan Dynasty (1271 AD - 1368 AD), Ming Dynasty (1368 AD - 1644 AD),  and Qing Dynasty (1644 AD - 1911 AD).

The purpose of this exhibition is to give to many the opportunity to visually study the past; through scrutiny of the old, one can discover new things. We believe Japanese contemporary ceramics have blossomed into one of the fine art forms through a friendly competition with and by learning from ancient Chinese ceramic traditions.
