L to R: Yoshimi Futamura, Simon Ward, Morten Løbner Espersen
Yufuku Gallery's first exhibition in 2005 will feature the works of three exciting, up-and-coming artists from Europe. The exhibition is titled "European Ceramic Art 2005."
Yoshimi Futamura, born and raised in Japan, has been working as a ceramicist in Paris since 1986. Simon Ward (United Kingdom) and Morten Løbner Espersen (Denmark) make their ceramic art in their home countries. Both artists have created works for the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Japan. Futamura and Løbner Espersen are currently in Japan's Fukui Prefecture (Ward is scheduled to arrive for the exhibition) to experiment with both the local clay and the noborigama-style rising kiln. The works produced during this time are likely to arrive in time for the Yufuku exhibition, to be shown alongside the fine works of all three artists made and brought over from Europe.
The European Ceramic Art 2005 Exhibition will run from January 7th to the 15th, 2005. We cordially invite you to visit our gallery, and sincerely hope that you enjoy the novel and imaginative works of the three artists.
