Background
|
Born and raised in Fukuoka. In 1974 moved to Tokyo to be a painter. Began training as a cook at the age of 20. Opened his restaurant, SHINPEI, in 1991. Created his unique dishes fusing Western and Japanese tastes and started making pottery for his original food. His pottery is in various styles from stoneware to porcelain.
